Chris Maguire
& Intermodal.

A lifetime in shipping.
Independent since 2005.

Chris’s shipping career began in the early 1970s, as conventional vessels gave way to containerisation. From Blue Star Port Lines to Blueport ACT (NZ) Ltd, those early years sparked a lifelong involvement in the industry.

Senior roles within the NZ European Shipping Association and the NZ & UK Ship Owners Committee followed, before a period with the NZ Apple & Pear Marketing Board.

After moving into freight forwarding in the mid-1990s, Chris saw a need for independent, experienced people who understood the needs of New Zealand companies.

He established Intermodal in early 2005, bringing that background to a personal, independent international freight forwarding business.
